Story of a Survivor from Persecuted Church Incident in Jaranwala

I am Suriya Bibi, a retired government worker residing in Essa Nagri Jarawala and a mother to six daughters. On August 16th, our lives were shattered when an angry mob attacked our community, setting fire to our house, neighborhood, and church. The experience was terrifying, and in a state of panic, we fled for our lives, finding refuge in nearby crop fields. Upon our return, the devastation was heart-wrenching – our home and belongings were reduced to ashes.

Amidst this tragedy, JECUP extended a helping hand. They provided essential supplies such as food packages, household items, and bedding suitable for both summer and winter, along with monthly cash assistance of Rs 5,000 for August and Rs 10,000 monthly from September to December 2023. The support from JECUP and RBN became a lifeline for us. Not only did their assistance meet our immediate needs, but it also infused us with hope and the resilience to rebuild our lives.

I express deep gratitude to JECUP and RBN for their unwavering support during this challenging time. Their kindness and generosity served as a beacon of hope, illustrating that even in the darkest moments, compassionate individuals are standing by us. Thank you, JECUP and RBN, for being our support system when we needed it the most
