The month of May has been a busy month all packed up with the initiation and launching of the project on community development in Samanbad town. This town which consists of domestic house workers, laborers, sanitary workers etc. getting salary which hardly meets their basic needs. Few are literate but many are illiterate. There is a good number of churches and Christians in this town normally from Church of Pakistan, Full Gospel Assemblies, Assemblies of God, United Gospel Assemblies and Catholic Church etc.

Therefore, JECUP took the initiative to strengthen the churches and Christian community of the project area. In this month we opened two Sewing Training centers and one Beautician training center in Yousaf Nagar, Bakar Mandi and Nagina Colony. Almost 25 to 30 girls have gathered in each center for learning. The teachers are well equipped and talented. Three prominent personalities from our community shared their presence in this launching ceremony, Mr. Dansihmand Wasti (General Secretary Scripture Union, Pakistan), Mr. Kashif Iqbal (Administrator Noor Ministries, Pakistan) and Mrs. Rozina Jamil (wife of Bishop of Lahore Rt. Rev. Irfan Jamil). They were glad to join and shared their remarks:

 “This is a good initiative JECUP has taken as our community needs strengthening and motivation the methodology JECUP is applying is good. I wish JECUP’s work may grow and our community be strengthened. “
