My name is Adnan Salamat, and I hail from Raiwind. My father has toiled as a brick kiln worker for as long as I can remember. In our family, we have always struggled to make ends meet. One skill I possess is handling a donkey cart, but it wasn’t enough to change our situation.
Adnan’s Journey from Brick Kiln to Donkey Cart Business
One day, I heard about a JECUP organization providing small business opportunities to Christian youth. Intrigued and hopeful, I was eager to learn more. Soon after, representatives from JECUP visited our area and filled out my application form. I was delighted to receive a call inviting me to attend their Business Training program. The training was a revelation. I had never been exposed to such informative and practical knowledge before. The concepts were entirely new to me, and I admired the meticulous process JECUP had in place. They taught us not just how to start a business but how to sustain and grow it. After some time, I received another call from JECUP informing me that my donkey cart was ready. I was overjoyed. Along with other youth from my community, I received this invaluable gift. With my new donkey cart, I am now earning PKR 18,000 a month, which has significantly alleviated our financial burden. I can contribute to my family’s expenses, providing us with a stability we had never known before. All praises to God for watching over people like me and for using JECUP as a vessel to bring us help from abroad. The support and opportunities provided by JECUP have transformed my life. I am grateful beyond words for this blessing and the hope it has instilled in our hearts.
