JECUP is running two Disabled Support Centres (DSCs) for Rehabilitation of Person with Disabilities (PwDs) located in Raiwind and Manga mandi 35 KM for away from Lahore.

We are providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to children, youngsters, and adults. Rehabilitation method is Assessment, Heat & Massage physiotherapy, Training of caretaker, Home based treatment, Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, Follow-up visit Family Counselling, Parent Meeting, Training of mentally retarded such as activities of Daily living and other social activities. We also provide orthopedic appliances.

 We help change the attitude of the community towards the PwDs through community meetings and counseling.

Our methodology is response and Recovery. We respond with emergency relief by providing food rations, temporary shelter, and medical aid. After the immediate threat to human life has subsided, the recovery phase begins. The immediate goal of the recovery phase is to re-establish normalcy as quickly as possible. Health care intervention remains in place until the government assumes control of the affected areas.

COVID-19 Response: Restoration Lives

In response to COVID 19 epidemic, JECUP supported 2,350 families that has about 16,500 family members, 40 Churches that has about approximately 5000 church members, and 20 Schools with 2,382 children, in rural and urban areas of district Lahore, especially to the families of widows, Person with Disabilities (PWDs), domestic and factory workers, families of Brick kiln workers and unemployed due to COVID 19, with the partnership of Tearfund UK, the Relief Board of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation (RBN), Barnabas Fund and SPECIAL KIDS PAKISTAN.

The following services were provided:
• Created awareness about the prevention of COVID19
• Provision of food item packages at their doorsteps
• Health and Hygiene Kits
• Establishment of Wash stations in Churches and Schools
• Provision of spray machines & Infrared thermometers in Churches and Schools

The economic burden has been decreased to buying food items.
 Enjoyed good quality and nutritional food, especially for children.
 Released from mental and physical stress.
 Protected from exploitation in exchange of food and resources
 Increased awareness of safeguard measures to save from COVID-19
 Saved from the starving.
 Stabilized or improve food consumption for targeted beneficiaries.

 

POST COVID-19 Social Economic Recovery Through Re-establishing affected businesses

JECUP in partnership with Tearfund-UK, has supported 49 COVID-19-affected families to socio-economically recover through the establishment of their small businesses.

Support for Afghan Refugees

JECUP in partnership with the Relief Board of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation (RBN), providing food items packages and cash grants to the Afghan Refugees in Quetta Pakistan on humanitarian bases to provide them with some financial and psychological relief. Previously from November 2021 to February 2022, we provided food items and cash grants to 1730 Afghan Refugees.

Medical Camp for IDPs of Waziristan

On July 18-August 02, 2014 JECUP started a 2 week medical camp for Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) of North Waziristan. We arranged our free medical camp at Bannu.

Rain/floods 17 Sep 2014 – Hafizabad, Pakistan

Medical Camp for Flood Effected of Distt. Muzaffargrah

On September 20-28, 2014, JECUP initiated a 9 day medial camp in the areas of Sher Shah (Distt. Muzaffargarh) to flood affected population.

On 22 July 2015, 96mm of rain was recorded in 24 hours in Punjab province which caused heavy flooding. A six-days medical camp (i.e. 3^rd August to 8^th August, 2015) was held in District Muzaffargarh with support and collaboration of Government District Health Officer. 678 patients were given medical treatment including 243 males and 435 females.

On Monday, October 26, 2015, at 2:09 pm (PST), Pakistan was hit by a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 (resource: Meteorological Department of Pakistan). JECUP instantly investigated the situation. Initial reports came in that at least 276 people were killed and more than 1620 injured. The Province of Khyber PakhtunKhwa (KPK) was one of the most affected areas. It was also reported that approximately 2500 houses were damaged or destroyed leaving thousands homeless and without shelter from the fast approaching winter season. 

Medical Camp for Swat

On October 30- November 1, 2015.A three-day medical camp was held at a location in Swat. This camp provided medical assistance as well as psycho-social support to the victims of the earthquake. During these three days 327 patients were given medical treatment including 124 males and 203 females.
